Services Available

The Centre opens from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday to accommodate working parents and parents in training.

Babies, Toddlers & Pre-schoolers:

Trained Early Years Educators follow the High/Scope approach to early childhood development with our young babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Children are encouraged to engage in enjoyable, active play and to learn together with the adults as partners.

Each child’s development is recorded and monitored and the programmes are regularly reviewed to ensure that they are best meeting the needs of the children both as individuals and in their groups.

Each group enjoys a minimum of 1 trip each year that links with their interests and allows them to explore further in the exciting world around them. Trips include outings to the zoo, local farms, history museums, tours of the city (with time to sing at the Molly Malone statue!), Imaginosity, heritage sites and parks.

We participate in an annual arts week where children are introduced to a wide range of music, theatre, storytelling and circus work. Further information about this week can be found on our Facebook page or on the Darndale Belcamp Village Centre Facebook page.

After-School Programme:

Up to 40 children, aged 4 to 12 years, take part in the after-school programme. The recently renovated after schools room provides the children with the opportunity to wind down after school, to socialise with their peers, to enjoy a wide range of hobbies, sports and arts and crafts which they choose freely for themselves.

After-schools

We have summer camps and holiday camps available for our children. These are a great time to socialize and have fun while participating in new and innovative activities and outings. Further information can be found on our Facebook page.

Family Support

Parents are supported in different ways by the staff and management of the Centre. They receive up to date reports on their child’s progress which offers opportunities to discuss any concerns or difficulties their child may be experiencing so that these can be addressed as early as possible.

Nutrition Programme

All children are provided with a nutritious breakfast, hot lunch and tea at the centre as well as healthy snacks. Our full-time cook and kitchen team provide balanced, healthy meals as an integral part of the programme. Children with allergies and specific dietary requirements are also catered for.

We promote healthy eating throughout all age groups. Our food is healthy, varied, nutritious and tasty. Our meals are prepared and cooked daily in our kitchen. Our menu is varied and appealing and encourages children to try out different foods.

Children are provided with a breakfast; warm cooked dinner and a healthy tea. Fruit snacks, milk and water are available at all times.
